Dear Jry,
You will remember that on the 21st December
Mr. Bridgeman wrote to Mr. Amery to say "The Admiralty certainly withdraw their objections to the Kowloon Ferry
Reclamation Scheme - and if necessary an official letter
shall be sent to say so."
The Department here would be very glad if an official letter could now be sent, as the offer of £250,000 has been made by Hong Kong and has been gratefully accepted by H.M.O. A copy of the telegram accepting this generous gift will be circulated to the Cabinet at
an early date,
The reference to the Admiralty file in which objection was taken to the proposed land reblamation is a letter of the 12th July, headed "C.X.in C.2912/24/213* Yours sincerely,
T.Jry, Esq.
